2nd Lt Jack Hauger was with the 492nd in 1943 under the command of Col Pierce. He had been sent with a crew to the 32nd CCTS (Combat Crew Training School) at Davis-Monthan Air Field in Tucson, Arizona. On 9 Jan 44 he was transferred back to the 492nd in Alamogordo.

Most of the Hauger Crew was taken over by 2nd Lt Orthman, another pilot inherited from the Col Pierce command. We don't know what new assignment was given to Lt Hauger or to his navigator. One of his NCOs was reassigned to the McLaughlin Crew 811.
